Covid testing for Rolleston-on-Dove residents

People in Rolleston-on-Dove are being urged to book a coronavirus test after a surge in cases in the village. The area is reporting a seven-day infection rate greater than 500 per 100,000 people, compared to a rate of fewer than 190 per 100,000 people across East Staffordshire.

To help curb the spread of infection in the area, everyone who lives in Rolleston-on-Dove is being directed to the nearest local testing site is at Burton Town Hall.

People must book their test online at or by calling 119, and when asked the reason for booking a test, select “My local council or health protection team has asked me (or someone I live with) to get a test, even though I do not have symptoms.”

A community testing site will also be open at Rolleston Scout Group in Station Road, between 09.30 – 11.30 on Saturday (31 October), for anyone who is unable to travel into Burton. Appointments must be booked via the county council website, with slots made available from Thursday morning.

Please be patient, it can take some time to get an appointment.

Walks around Rolleston

A new web site for those interested in local walks has just gone live. offers 10 walks all starting at the Lychgate of Rolleston Church. The first five are on footpaths in the parish whilst the next five go further afield into Anslow, Tutbury and Hatton. In these unusual Covid times walking is one of the best ways to stay fit and active so the authors hope that many local people will try out the walks and enjoy them. The authors can be contacted at and any feedback, positive or negative, would be appreciated so that the site can be improved over time.
