At the recent Gardens Sunday event in the village the Spread Eagle Island stall managed to raise £136 from the sale of plants grown by the volunteers. The proceeds will be used to plant a mixture of Allium, Crocus and Narcissus bulbs ready to flower next Spring. A King Charles III rose has also been purchased to be planted later this year. This still left enough to donate £25 to the Garden Sunday Church charity. Many thanks to the volunteers who maintain this area so beautifully and to their hard work in raising this money.

Rollestonian of the Year!
At last night’s Parish Council meeting Graham Jacks was voted the 2022 Rollestonian of the Year. In one of the strongest fields for many years with 19 people nominated by members of the village, Graham was unanimously elected as the winner by all members present.
As well as congratulating Graham the Parish Council wish to thank all the people who nominated so many people, many of whom would have been worthy winners. Please bear them in mind next year when the time comes to nominate again.
Graham’s contribution to the village through Rolleston Scout Group over many years cannot be overstated. The award will be presented at the September Parish Council meeting.
