Meadow View Play Area Extension Consultation Project

The Parish council is consulting the residents of the Parish to seek their views on the Meadow View play area extension project, as advised in the spring 2022 Rollestonian newsletter.

Project Objectives

To extend the existing Meadow View play area installing new equipment to suit toddlers to 10 years of age of all abilities

To provide innovative, inclusive modern play equipment complying with the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act)

To provide low maintenance, strong play equipment of metal construction

To provide safety surfacing and metal bow, rainbow coloured fencing that incorporates and includes the existing equipment into a single area

Funding

Funding will be the S106 (Section 106) monies arising from the Bellway development, Rolleston Manor, at College Fields.

The funds must be used for the provision of, or maintenance of, community facilities such as play equipment within the vicinity of the development.

Play Equipment Details

Swings – 2 bay cradle stainless steel swings

Toddler play tower – includes Square Towers, Slide, Steps, Ladder, Arch Climber, Roof, Bridge, Adding Wheels Play Panel, Letter Wheel Play Panel, 4 x Bridge Spinning Activities

Roundabout – inclusive platform with 1 seat and space for 2 wheelchairs

The Parish Council invites your feedback on this proposal which should be submitted to the Clerk via email (rollestonpc@outlook.com). All feedback is confidential and names will not be added to any sharing of comments received.

The consultation period runs from 21st June to 5th July 2022 inclusive and responses will be considered at the July Parish Council meeting.

Rollestonian of the Year!

Chair of the Parish Council, Clare Stewart handed over the annual ‘Rollestonian of the Year’ to Dave and Maureen Woolley who recently retired after running the Rolleston Garage for over 40 years before Monday’s Parish Council meeting. Congratulations to them both and we wish them a happy retirement.

Various Streets in East Staffordshire

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Staffordshire County Council being the highway authority responsible for the repair and maintenance of Various Street in East Staffordshire are satisfied that it is necessary to close the length
of Mill Stream Lane Burton on Trent,  Anslow Lane Rolleston on Dove ,  Belmot Road Needwood,  Belmot Lane Bushton,  Redhill Lane Tutbury and Bushton Lane Tutbury for a period of 5 days but no more than 5 days from 9th May
2022 because of the likelihood of danger to the public during multiple pothole repairs being undertaken by Staffordshire County Council.

Access will be available for pedestrians and for vehicles being used in connection with the works and for emergency services vehicles or for vehicles requiring access to premises on the length of road which is closed.
An alternative route for traffic will be in place each day by the crew

IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE CLOSURE WILL BE IN PLACE BETWEEN 08:00hrs on 9th May 2022 AND 16:00hrs on 13th May 2022.
