To have money to spend on services each year the Council has to tax residents or increase fees for the services it provides. If it decides to spend more on a service, or group of services, it may have to increase the amount it takes from people in tax or charge more to service users.

Construction Management Plan – Update
At the recent public meeting with Bellway it was agreed that there would be a follow on meeting with County, Highways, ESBC and Bellway at which the PC would be invited. The meeting took place on Tue 28th and the PC were well represented. The views from the village expressed at the public meeting were carried into the discussion and all parties became well acquainted with the challenges that the CMP still needs to address. The meeting was very constructive from all sides and a number of actions arose, including a re-survey of Walford and Fairfield by Highways, which will now be pursued.
No final decisions were taken and there will be a follow on meeting before that point is reached. The PC will again be represented at that meeting and keep everyone updated on progress.

Village Gala!!
College Fields Update
At the ESBC Planning Committee meeting on the 14th Aug 2018 the College Fields application was given approval. The construction management plan is still to be agreed and for all those at the public meeting on Monday (13th) all of the concerns and actions will still have to be addressed. The Parish Council will continue to monitor the progress on this matter and provide updates as they become available.
Notice to dog walkers
East Staffordshire Borough Council enforcement officers have been in and around the village recently and produced the following disturbing report. Whilst the Parish Council acknowledges that the majority of dog owners dispose of litter responsibly, this kind of behaviour from a minority is unacceptable. Please report offenders to the number below.
Disposing of a dog bag in the bushes is a Littering offence. Our officers have recently cleared 116 bags just from the Jinny Trail, Rolleston. Contact us on 01283 508036 if you know who the culprits are.

We have received notification that Bellways now have a construction management plan. As promised we have arranged for Bellways to come back and present it to us all. The public meeting will take place on Monday 13th August 7pm in the Grammar School Rooms. The relevant documents can be found below:
Rollestonian of the year!
Congratulations to Richard Bush, Rollestonian of the year 2018. Following his decision to step down as village webmaster after 20 years of stirling service, Richard received many nominations and was justly awarded this honour.
