NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB has secured more funding to support people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on their path to remission.
Following on from the success of the three-year programme which supported 479 people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes to remission, losing an average of 10.23kg, the programme has been relaunched and will run until September 2025.
The funding means another 500 people in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire can receive the help and support they need to lose weight, improve their blood sugar levels, reduce reliance on medication – all of which can help put Type 2 Diabetes into remission.
People living in Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth, Burton and Cannock who have been diagnosed with diabetes are encouraged to book an appointment with their GP to arrange a review.
