Update on Staffordshire County Council’s jetting of drains/gullies and investigation programme

Update on Staffordshire County Council’s jetting of drains/gullies and investigation programme over the next few weeks in the village.
You may have already noticed that gulley crews are in the village this week. They commenced the cleaning of the drains on Church Road up to the new bus shelter opposite Hall Road junction. The remaining drains past the new bus shelter up to the Cemetery, will require traffic controls for safety reasons as they are outside of the 30 mph speed restriction. The same safety requirement applies to those on Rolleston Lane and Cornmill Lane. Other areas in the village are planned in and we are being kept updated on progress via our County Councillor Philip White.
It has also been confirmed that the programme includes the requested scheduled camera investigation survey of drains at the junction of Anslow Lane and Burnside. This area currently has standing water collecting at times of heavy rainfall, leading to flooding over the road.
We will endeavour to advise of the dates for different areas in advance if we are able to. If possible it would be most helpful and much appreciated by the crews if parking over the drains could be avoided when the crews are in the respective areas please.
